Good Morning or Afternoon - which ever applies to your current circumstance.
I am preparing for my final, final. After nearly 2 years (since January 2007) I have been meandering the halls of Fullerton's College of Business as a master's student....always waiting for the final, final.
Now that its here...2 hours away from me - its bitter sweet. I don't think it sunk in until yesterday, maybe even today what an occasion it is. I felt really accomplished when I finished my BS...and now - a Master's degree.....it feels like it should be momentous but it never did feel that way. I guess I'm just starting to feel it now - after semesters of hard work, and not talking to my friends and family on a regular basis....I''''''m baaaaack.
I won't walk till May 2009 but it's officially over. (Looooonnng Siiiiiighhh)

Another Book -
Hello again -
I've been sick and unable to put my Madonna videos up - but they'll be here soon. In the meantime I've finished another book "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. Its about the experience of a Chinese girl and her experiences from a young child into adulthood. I'd say its definitely an A. If you enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha - you will also enjoy this book.
I'm off reading another book now - The Time Traveler's Wife. I found another Wally Lamb book and you can read the 1st chapter at Harper Collins. Unfortunately - the other books are not available at Harper Collins :(

The premise is that a manager from our dept has been run over by a cart...and there was a suspicious salsa stain found on the premise.

Halloween Skit
Hello again
Another exam down and another one to go on Monday (big sigh). So I found a great quote
Never judge a book by its movie.
J. W. Eagan.
I recently finished Brisignr the 3rd book in the Eragon series. The movie based on the first book was HORRIBLE. If you see it - well it will probably make you never want to read the book. If you were like me and chanced upon the books first - then saw the movie, it was a poor excuse for the story which is sad because its an epic book similar to that of Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter....
Anyway if you're interested the books are wonderful: Eragon, Eldest, and Brisignr - with the 4th and final book not yet written and so I must wait 1 to 2 years for my finale.
But anyhoo - the book is about dragons and their riders, bonds between family, friends, loss, tragedy, love....all of that written so well. There's no holes in the book - no parts that make me want to fast forward. Even if you listen to the book audio its really good.
All for now. Happy HALLOWEEENIE.

More Pet Trek
Friday, October 17, 2008
Been awhile....
So I've been wrapped up in school and work. This last semester is not what I wanted but I think what I had expected.
Anyway - I wrapped up on some books: Dog Years, Heart Shaped Box, and Book of Air and Shadows....though I think I talked about some of those previously. I'm working on Brisinger (3rd book in the Eragon series) and Secret Life of Bees....
I'm not getting far with any of those books seeing as I have a huge midterm coming up thus the reason I haven't posted the pics that I have wanted....maybe this weekend when I get a break - no promises.
Anyway - I will post more in the coming weeks!!! I have plenty to put up here and just no time to do it.
For now - TATA :)

Pet Trek Irvine 2008
So we went to Irvine's Pet Trek this past weekend and had so much fun!!
Our dogs were totally in the spirit of "walkin' it out". At the end the cheerleaders started with their "Go Doggies Go" and Lily was freaked the hell out. We've got more pics but these were the professional ones :)

This is Lily trying to sneak in someone else's picture!!!

Joke of the Day
THE GAY FLIGHT ATTENDANT
My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed
to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told
us that "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the
big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays
up, that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather
Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle.
"Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, 'In my country, I am called a Princess
and I take orders from no one.'
To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,
"Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you."
"Tray-up, Bitch"

An Accomplishment
So what's a little 10k on 8/31/08 that started at 8:31:08 around LA?
After weeks of training...we finished the race. I crossed the finish 1 hour and 14 minutes later. I was about 7 minutes slower than my practice race - but this was the story of my race
"Feeling good, passing the 106.7 band van on turn 1 (yay). Man I gotta pee...I'm probably at least 3 miles I can make it.....wait does that mile marker say 2? You're kidding right...ok so I'll stop at a porto-potty."
Making my way to the first set of porto-potties..... "oh look bathro0m (slowing down), oh crap is that a line never mind (speeds back up and runs)
Next set...."another freakin line, you have to be kidding me" (speeds back up)
"okay here we go...there should be more porto potties coming up somewhere and behold a drink table but no porto potties!! (grab some water to splash on the noggin and keep running)"
Mile 5 - okay still no porto potties since about 15 minutes ago....but as I'm passing the restaurants off the street, I think "would they let me in to use the bathroom"....but I just keep running
Mile 6.2 - crossing the finish line - grabbing a bottle of water and there are tons of people EVERYWHERE......porto-potties everywhere.....YES!
I literally could not focus on anything except having to go to the bathroom...hahaha. I remembered how hard core marathoners just pee on themselves so they can keep going and make the time...but I didn't go there OBVIOUSLY.
Anyway come back to enjoy some pics from the race taken by Elmond's co-worker...to be posted soon :)

Web shopper - check this site out 1st
I'm a huge web shopper. I love avoiding crazy parking garages, standing in long lines, and searching the racks, and trying stuff on. I always wonder - who's watching me on the security cam. Yah they SAY its not pointed at the dressing room but haven't you ever watched 60 minutes.
So before you go blow your hard earned cash online check out this site http://www.freeshipping.org/
This site will list all of the places offering free shipping at the moment. I also like to look at websites like these:
http://www.retailmenot.com/
http://www.couponcodes4u.com/
http://www.couponcabin.com/index.htm
http://www.currentcodes.com/
All of these sites give you the latest codes for all sorts of stores. You can also trying doing a google search for say "victorias secret online promotion code" and you'll get a bunch of results.
Happy Shopping - and if you find a real deal don't forget to come back here and pass it on to the rest of us!

A few more books...
Okay so before I finally close out my list of reading - I was able to get a couple more in (but I'm still working on Tweak). All were pretty easy reads except for Book of Air and Shadows which deals with a potential Shakespearean play...
I've started class and it feels like its been more than just a summer off. I'm rusty at this whole sitting in class thing. I guess I'll get it down before the semester is over. At least I can feel the winter coming - its about time to wax the board and bust out the snowsuit....yeah baby.
Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella

Funny!!
So I had to share this....http://www.lovemybubbles.com/OBrief.shtml
I know women deal with all sorts of things to look lovely - water bras, padded bras, wearing shoes one size too small (toe overhang), pedicures, manicures, waxing, dying, tweezing, and now...butt bras. WOWZA
For only 64.00 you too can have a butt bra. I look at this contraption and say to myself - now what are young ladies going to do when their significant other wants to caress their glutamus OR even better - they gotta take on their nice outfit and hop into bed.
With three different options - the girdle, the thong, and the panty....you just can't go wrong, right?

Seriously?!
So there are always lot's of random things to read on the internet right? Can anyone tell me why you'd have to learn how to "nap". Yes, you read it correctly - how to take a freakin' nap.
To sum it up you must:
1. Find a good place to nap (really?)
2. Drink caffeine before you nap
3. Set an alarm for 15 minutes
4. Get up as soon as the alarm goes off
If you too would like to learn more about power napping visit: http://www.wikihow.com/Power-Nap
Isn't napping like Uncle Ben's rice, just throw it in the bowling water, wait 5 minutes and voila?! Well you know what they say about rocket science....
Well...my summer is officially over. I start school again next week. My LAST semester (cue music). So as I say goodbye to my freedom and friends - I say hello SQL database management and capstone course. I've got two more books I'm going to finish this weekend - I'll let you know how it turns out.
In the meantime friends - continue to come back for more....good-day.
