Welcome to the Gulf of Mexico

I've just returned from vacationing in sunny Florida. My sister graduated from FSU (Go Noles) and is now another member of the adult (soon to be) working population. Oh how I weep for her.

After a 1 day in Tallahassee we ventured to Destin, FL for 3 sun filled days. The water was warm...oh MAN was it warm (82-85 degrees) and the sand was soft as a down pillow in the Four Seasons.

If you're ever in the Destin area - here's some info for your vacationing pleasure:

-
Silver Sands outlet has lot's of great stores and the easiest way to get around is by moped.
-
Cheeseburger in Paradise has good burgers and food but if you're looking for napkins, drink refills, or a fork, FORGET ABOUT IT.
-
George's Scooter Rental will give you a great deal on a 4hour moped rental. Yes the scooters are a bit used but when you gotta rent 4 mopeds, cheaps the way to go and he'll give you a deal for 24hour rental...plus he's a master of all sorts of things.
-
Pompano Joe's has great seafood and a fun atmosphere beachside flavor, but if you're looking to high five the lady who fell on the way to the bathroom then maybe you should venture elsewhere.
-
Baytowne Wharf is a great place to visit at night and I've heard the zipline is worth the 20.00 :)

I was able to finish a couple more books, eat lots of food, and and drink my share of SWEET TEA (man I love the south). Unfortunately, I didn't make it to any of those east coast haunts such as: Dunkin Donuts, Cracker Barrel, Cici's Pizza, etc. Maybe next time?!

Once I'm unpacked and settled I'll add a slide show of some pictures taken while in Destin.
